We worked with 30 restaurants in November of 2022 and returned in January 2024 for a second round with 14 restaurants.Â
We saw significant reductions in greenhouse gases during these initiatives and the City of Austin’s Office of Sustainability committed to lasting improvements that benefit thousands of Austin citizens.
In honor of the initiative, Mayor Kirk Watson proclaimed January 2024 “Plant Based for the Planet Month!” and Better Food Foundation awarded the city with an artist-designed flag.
We plan to work with the city again in 2025 – stay tuned!
