Plant Based for the Planet is a city-sponsored initiative highlighting the environmental effects of our food choices. We work with city government, nonprofits and local businesses to collectively reduce the climate footprint of the city in one month-long push.
During and after our initiatives, we’ve seen significant reductions in greenhouse gases. As a result of our partnership, the City of Austin has committed to many lasting improvements that benefit thousands of Austin citizens.
In honor of the initiative, Mayor Kirk Watson proclaimed January 2024 “Plant Based for the Planet Month!”
